Our snowmobiles will pass near the Rosneft oil depot and along the oil pipeline we will reach the confluence of the Kuznechikha and Northern Dvina rivers.
Winding Kuznechikha River
This is the deepest port point in Arkhangelsk, with depths of up to 9.2 meters, which allows for the safe transshipment of various cargoes to supply projects in the Arctic and transportation to Europe and Asia. From the river we will observe the loading and unloading of a cargo ship, as well as take a memorable photo set in one of the key ports of the Arctic.
Cargo area of the Arkhangelsk seaport "Economia"
The cozy village of Lapominka and Lapominsky harbor, which offers a magnificent view of the "Great White Sea". There is a white snowy surface, thick white mists, the most delicate white clouds on the bright blue sky, and even its own White Tower.
Winter bank of the Northern Dvina River
This is a place of special Russian history, where everyone should visit at least once. We will explore the preserved barracks and bunkhouses of the abandoned concentration camp that operated here in 1918−1920, we will look into the museum and learn about the mysteries of Mudyug Island.
A fascinating encounter with the island of death — Mudyug Island
Away from civilization, the station staff collect rainfall, catch wind and measure sea depths, make weather forecasts for the great land and ship owners. We will get acquainted with the everyday life and important work of meteorologists, and warm ourselves with northern tea.
Introduction to the Marine Hydrometeorological Coastal Station
Lagoon-like bay between the island of Mudyug and the mainland part of the Winter coast of the White Sea. Fishermen’s favorite place for smelt, herring, and whitefish.
Dry Sea
We will visit the local museum, learn about the history and trades of the Pomors, taste delicious herring with potatoes baked in a Russian oven, talk to the locals and start our return to the starting point.
